I didn't add Shofner because I tried to only list players that had short careers like Sharpe's ... nine years or less. I felt his election might help those other players down the road but probably wouldn't help players like Don Doll, William Andrews, Billy Sims, Mike Reid or other players who played...

Bob Lilly compared Thomas to Jim Brown. He could have had a great career but butted heads with Tex Schramm, who tried to trade him rather than pay him. Had he just stayed focused on football, the sky was the limit, but the business side got under his skin, which is understandable.

Would have been an interesting defensive battle, had the Steelers and Redskins met in SB VII. Would Bradshaw have been fully healthy? The Redskins had problems with Paul Warfield but would have fared better against Shanklin and Lewis I believe. Could they have stopped the Steelers running game though?

Hardly any defensive players which is surprising. Maybe the next grouping?

I also like Aaron Thomas as TE/WR, Bob Tucker and for the future, Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham, who has a HOF case as well.
