Re: Eye Test for Two revelation

Hewitt got in and not Nagurski. I remember on the old board, a member brought up Hewitt being a weak HOFer and pointing t...

Re: Eye Test for Two revelation
I agree with this as it's written, but you mean "studied" film, right?
Either way, thanks for sharing this @PFHOFlover - explains a lot.

Re: Steve McMichael: HOF?
...it feels like the HOF regards the judgment of the founding classes as sacred, anyone they passed over was passed for a reason that doesn't require an explanation, and the only instance they're willing to admit they screwed up on is Friedman. Possibly, but I think the combination of recency bias ...

Re: NFL's Most Influential Teams
Thanks T&S ... I read somewhere that Friedman tried to lobby to be included in the initial HOF classes in the early 60s but rubbed voters the wrong way. You cant blame him if he was one of the first true advocates of forward passing. You're welcome. Yep, from my memory of reading the book, I be...

Re: NFL's Most Influential Teams
Chris Willis or TanksAndSpartans might know the answer to this? Wouldnt the 1929 NY Giants be highly influential with Benny Friedman throwing for 20 TDs, or was it done before, without any official records being printed? Great question - I've been taking a pretty close look at pre-NFL starting in t...

Re: Hard To Find Info Online
That's not unfortunate! That's some of the best money I spend every year! :) Ha, Ha - same here. I resisted subscribing for years thinking they were overcharging for something that should be free, but as the actual free sources started drying up, I gave in and now I look at it the same way. I get m...
