104th season, T'giving and 'Black Friday'

Post by racepug »

DET vs. G.B. - Both teams won last Sunday (although in both teams' case it can be argued that their opponents LOST the game more than anything). The Lions are looking more and more like they're going to win their division this season but to realize that goal they can't really afford a hiccup against so-so division rivals G.B. on Thursday. (The Lions haven't won a T'giving Day game since 2016 [against the Vikings] but the last time they played the Packers on the holiday [10 years ago] they won in a romp [40 - 10]).

DAL vs. WAS - the Commanders suffered a baaaad loss to division rivals N.Y. last Sunday. They probably don't harbor any realistic hopes of making the playoffs at this point but a win on Thursday would go some way towards easing some of the pain of their worst losses this season.

SEA vs. SFO - Four days after blowing a 2nd half lead against division rivals L.A. the Seahawks are back at it, playing their first-ever T'giving game at home. Things don't get any easier as they take on the very talented San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field. This is the second game in a tough 5-game stretch for SEA while with a win SFO will, for the first time in its history, win in Seattle in consecutive seasons AND open up a 2-game lead on the Seahawks in the division.

the NYJ vs. MIA (Black Friday) - the Jets try to "pick up the pieces" after their débâcle against the Bills 5 days earlier. QB Zach Wilson has been benched in favor of a guy (Tim Boyle) who, in his one season at UConn threw for 1 TD and 13 INTs, and in his time at UConn, Eastern Kentucky, and in the pros, combined, has thrown 15 TDs and 35 INTs (by contrast Zach Wilson has thrown 21 TDs and 25 INTs during his time in the pros). The "football gods" sure gave the NYJ a "thumbs down" when Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season in his very first drive in Week 1.

Bland got his record breaking TD off the interception but the Redskins trying to tackle him, left alot to be desired. Like the Seahawks later, I felt the Skins layed down with the game on the line.

GB won the line of scrimmage against Detroit and now the Lions have to make sure a repeat performance doesnt happen the next week.

The Jets need to get Hackett to start to Packett ... his offense is terrible. How do you give Hall and Cook only 8 carries?
