They can't be serious. That's some magical thinking at work.

Magical thinking is right. The "mouth shield" has holes in it.

Look further down at the diagrams.RyanChristiansen wrote:Magical thinking is right. The "mouth shield" has holes in it.
The "holes" are filtered and offset. There are two layers with a filter in between.
Not that I think this'll work but it is more complicated than it first appears.
My concern as a player would be with efficient breathing...

It's not affixed to the face so vapor will billow out around it.JuggernautJ wrote:Look further down at the diagrams.RyanChristiansen wrote:Magical thinking is right. The "mouth shield" has holes in it.

Not much different then having a visor on your motorcycle helmet, and not as bad as your team forfeiting two weeks of its schedule for a quarantine. If it's the plastic shield or no football at all, I know what I'd rather see this then a bunch of 2 to 0 games.

True, and when you're in TX in the summer and you're not actually moving on your bike it's stiflingly hot. Stop for gas and it's a race to get the helmet off. I'd totally prefer it to no football but I do wonder if we might see different or more frequent substitution patterns.Mark L Ford wrote:Not much different then having a visor on your motorcycle helmet, and not as bad as your team forfeiting two weeks of its schedule for a quarantine.
