It does. Just saying Johnson > Cowher in terms of resumeJuggernautJ wrote:It reeks of commercialism to me.
Anything for our friends at the TV networks...
I was hoping someone worthy might be inducted.
Silly me.
While he thankfully didn't campaign for induction, the fact that Cowher is still in the public eye on a weekly basis probably doesn't hurt. He's kind of a modern Madden, who also won only one Super Bowl and lost a lot of AFCCGs. Though in Madden's case, his first five losses in the conference title game came against the eventual SB champion, with his last to Denver ending that streak. Plus, he was on the wrong end of the fluke for the ages.JohnTurney wrote:At least Johnson won 2 Super Bowls. And left the table set for Barry to win on. and was amazing in scouting college talent that translated to the NFL.
His "2nd act" in Miami was okay, not special.
Cowher. Lost a lot of AFCCGs. Won a Supe lost a Supe. Did keep his scheme going, despite losing OLBers'
to UFA every 3-4 years. Over his time defense was one of top 2 in NFL in terms of points, sacks, etc.
But my issue is Cowher leapfrogging the 2-title coaches and the "innovation" coaches.
Cowher is friends with powerful committee members. Close friends. not just "hey how you doing"
So, Cowher and Johnson. 1 not a surprise, floored by the other
