I still have this on VHS. The YouTube clip doesn't include the amazing commercial for Swanson's Hungry Man frozen dinners with Redskins DE Charles Mann as the spokesperson. Always great to go back and view these prognostication videos from NFL Films and see who they were hyping up(basically half of the league) but some of the names are great. Let's see who the video hit and missed on!

This video was made after the 1989 season.

Quarterbacks:

Bernie Koser- Kosar was no longer a starting QB by 1994. Had a good season in 1991 though.

Mark Rypien- Lead the Redskins to a Super Bowl in the 1991 season with a tremendous season. Was out of his starting job by the end of the 1993 season and retired by 1998. Came back and played 4 games in 2001.

Chris Miller- Made the Pro Bowl in 1991 for the Falcons was very good in 1992 before getting hurt then spent the next few seasons as an average starter in the NFL

Vinny Testaverde- Never put it together with the Bucs(35 INTS in 1988!!) but ended up making two Pro Bowls with the Ravens and Jets. Played until 2007.

Randall Cunningham- Had a tremendous 1990 season. Got hurt early in the 1991 campaign and never regained his form with the Eagles. Resureccted his career with Vikings in 1998 for an amazing season.

Bubby Brister- Had a solid enough 1990 before not being able to hold onto the Steelers starting job for the next two years. Ended up in Philly having a very good 1993 and collected a couple of SB rings backing up John Elway.

Jim(Chris) Everett- Has become a walking punchline today but people forget how good he was in the late 80's. Made the PB in 1990 but could never get the Rams over the hump and they started to suck. Had a few solid seasons in New Orleans before retiring.

Troy Aikman- Won three SBs in four seasons for the Cowboys. HOF'er.

Jeff George- Bounced around the NFL for 10 years. Lead the league in passing yards one year. Had a few good to above average years with the Falcons and Raiders. All-Mullet Team

Andre Ware- Five career TD passes. Out of football by 1994.

Don Majkowski- Never able to stay healthy after his PB season in 1989. Gave way to Brett Favre in 1992. Out of the NFL after the 1996 season.

Defenders

Leslie O'Neal- Made the PB in 90, 92,93,94 and 95. Career 132.5 sacks.

David Fulcher- All Pro in 1989 and PB in 1990 but was out of the NFL by 1994.

Louis Oliver- Had some very solid/productive years from 1990-1994. Down year in 1995 and a slight bounce back in 1996 but never played in the NFL after that. Not sure the story here. Might look into why he retired so abruptly.

Steve Atwater- PB in 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, and 98. All Pro in 91 and 92. Two Super Bowl Rings. One of the elite hitting safeties in football during his career. Could make it to the HOF someday.

Tim McDonald- Underrated career. Made PBs in 89, 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95. Won a SB with SF in 1994.

Bennie Blades- Made a PB team in 1991. Bit of an uneven career but started all the way up until he left football after the 1997 season.

Erik McMillan- After making back to back PB in 88 and 89 started only one more year in the NFL and was out of the league by 1994.

Michael Dean Perry- Better than his more famous brother William. MD Perry was an All Pro in 1989 and 1990. Made Pro Bowls in 89, 90, 91, 93, 94, and 96. Got a ring as part of the 1997 Broncos.

Jerome Brown- On a HOF career trajectory prior to his untimely death at the age of 26 before the 1992 season.

Kevin Greene- One of the elite pass rushers of the 90s. PBs in 89, 94, 95, 96, and 98. All Pro in 94 and 96. 160 career sacks. Lead the league in sacks in 94 and 96. HOFer

Pat Swilling- PB in 89, 90, 91, 92, and 93. All Pro in 91 and 92. Part of the famed Dome Patrol defense/LB corps. Lead the NFL in sacks in 1991. 1991 DPOY. 107.5 career sacks.

Tim Harris- Made the PB and AP team in 1989 with 19.5 sacks. By 1991 was with San Francisco. Collected 17 sacks in 1992(good for second in the NFL) but didn't make the PB(?!). Won a ring with the Niners in 1994.

Keith McCants- One of the bigger busts in draft history. Out of the NFL after the 1995 season. 13.5 career sacks.

Cornelius Bennett- PB and AP in 1988. PB's in 90, 91, 92, and 93. Helped the Bills to four straight Super Bowls. Retired after the 2000 season. Started 204 of 206 career games played. Underrated career.

Derrick Thomas- One of the All Time great pass rushers. PBs in 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, and 97. All Pro in 90 and 91. Lead the league in sacks in 1990. 126.5 career sacks before his passing after the 1999 season.

Running Backs:

Blair Thomas- Big draft bust here. Out of the NFL after the 1995 season. 2236 career rushing yards.

Emmitt Smith- NFL career rushing leader. Lead the NFL in rushing 4x. Lead NFL in rushing TDs 3x. PB in 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 98, and 99. All Pro in 92, 93, 94, and 95. 1990 OROY, MVP in 1993. 3x SB champion. HOFer

Bobby Humphrey- PB in 1990. Held out to start the 1991 season. Never got his job back. Traded to the Dolphins and basically out of football after the 1992 season.

Barry Sanders- PB in 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, and 98. AP in 89, 90, 91, 94, 95, and 97. Lead the NFL in rushing 4x. 2053 yards in 1997. Lead NFL in rushing TDs 1x. NFL OROY, 2x OPOY. 1x MVP. 3rd all time in rushing yards. HOFer.

Dalton Hilliard- PB in 1989. Out of football after 1993.

John L Williams- PB in 90 and 91 at Fullback. Out of the NFL after 1995.

Thurman Thomas- PB in 89, 90, 91, 92, and 93. All Pro in 90 and 91. MVP in 91, OPOY in 91. Helped the Bills to four straight Super Bowls. HOFer

Dave Meggett- Mainly made his name as a return man. PB in 89 and 96. Won a SB with the 1990 Giants.

Eric Metcalf- A player before his time. RB/WR/KR. PB in 93, 94, and 97. All Pro in 93 and 97. Career numbers are underwhelming but just a guy you had to see play.

Christian Okoye- PB in 89 and 91. All Pro in 89. Out of the NFL after the 1992 season due to knee injuries and not having his heart in the game. A terror on early versions of Madden.

Neal Anderson- PB in 88, 89, 90 and 91. Knee/hamstring issues limited his career. Out of football after the 1993 season. At one point claimed by some to be the best all around back in the NFL.

Teams

Buffalo Bills- 4 Straight Super Bowls to start the decade. 8 times in the playoffs. Second most wins in the decade (103)

Green Bay- 1 SB win. Two Super Bowl appearances. 6 times in the playoffs. 93 wins. It should be noted most of this prediction was based on guys like Majkowski and Sharpe and Tim Harris being part of the mix. The video even mentioned Tony Mandarich (LOL). Green Bays success would come with none of these really a part of it at all.

Detroit- 6 playoff appearances. 79 wins in the decade. Ended up middle of the pack.

Kansas City- 7 years in the playoffs. Third most wins in the decade (102). Under achieved constantly in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh- 1 SB appearance. 6 years in the playoffs. 93 wins in the decade.

Atlanta- 1 SB appearance. 3 playoff appearance. 72 wins in the decade.
