Re: "Virtual" chapter of the PFRA
After some conversations, it appears that a blanket "virtual chapter" of the PFRA is a non-starter, for a number of good reasons. First, the intention was for the chapter to help people in far-flung places to get together online and to hold events, similar to a physical chapter, but entire...

Re: Mill City Scrum, a history of Minnesota's first NFL team
Thanks. The cover shows a silhouette of Reuben Ursella, which I created from a photo of him that was published in the newspaper in 1913. The photo is also inside the book as an illustration.TanksAndSpartans wrote:Congrats Ryan! Looks awesome. Great title and cover artwork. Who's on the cover?

Mill City Scrum, a history of Minnesota's first NFL team
I’m pleased to announce that Mill City Scrum, the history of Minnesota’s first team in the National Football League, has been published and is available for purchase. The book is based on over 2,700 sources of information and is the result of eighteen months of research, writing, and editing. https:...

Re: Reuben Ursella - HOVG
Reuben Ursella played quarterback. He was a great scat back, kicker, and kick returner. This is how Reuben Ursella (and Fred Chicken) impacted both the Minneapolis Marines and the Rock Island Independents during the period when their teams outscored opponents 1,725 to 157 points. Ursella took over a...

Re: 1970 Monday Night Football & All in the Family
All in the Family was a situation comedy but with an effectively understated message. It showed a family in Queens, New York with problems within the family and intertwined with the social and economic climate at the time... In laughing at them we were laughing at ourselves. I agree with the premi...

Re: 2023 Hall of Very Good Nominations
The only suggestion I would make to our process, and I brought this up during the business meeting at the 2018 Buffalo convention, is that once the ballot of 20 is finalized, I would drop the requirement that voters MUST vote for 10 nominees. I think that should be changed to: ...no more than 10 no...

Re: Best Ever One-Dimensional Running Backs
I think Adrian Peterson might have been the best one-dimensional back I've never really thought about this but I think that A.P. is a good nominee although I have no idea if his deficiencies in receiving and blocking were because of poor coaching or more because he simply wasn't interested in eithe...
