Re: Andy Piascik's Take on Seniors
I think it's a total trainwreck. At least 15 and probably more like 18 of the 25 don't belong anywhere near the Hall of Fame. Making things worse is that a template has been established where it's likely that all of the 25, minus whoever gets elected, will get rolled over to 2024 and 2025. Of all th...

Re: Talk of Fame's Senior Draft
That's fine, Brian, but I was hoping we wouldn't digress into discussing the merits or lack thereof of any of the players I mentioned but instead discuss all-decade teams.

Re: Talk of Fame's Senior Draft
I believe we should throw them out. Not only are they not helpful, they're harmful. They elevate completely undeserving guys to HOF discussions and they downgrade players who did not make an all-decade team and are far more deserving of the HOF than many who are already in as well as many all-decade...

Re: 3 seniors per year from 2023-2025, 9 total
We don't need all-decade teams or half-decade teams because we have all-pro teams going back to the 1920s that are incredibly useful in evaluating players we haven't seen (or those we have seen). In fact, we have multiple all-pro teams for practically every season. There's a rich mix of opinion: som...

Re: 3 seniors per year from 2023-2025, 9 total
Brian, I think players who were finalists multiple times like Conerly and Greenwood should get the same consideration as every other Senior and no more. Why, for example, should Greenwood get more consideration than a more qualified candidate like Dilweg who has never been a finalist even once? Why ...

Re: Andy Piascik's Take on Seniors
Zero26, I think you may have misunderstood my point about the Centennial Committee. Some of the finalists who weren't elected are certainly worthy of reconsideration and some are definitely worthy of being elected, but I would hate to see the Senior Committee start by automatically grandfathering in...

Re: Andy Piascik's Take on Seniors
I like all four of those very much. If those four plus Dilweg, Wistert and maybe Howley get in in the next three years, that would be tremendous.

Re: Andy Piascik's Take on Seniors
Zero26, did you read somewhere that the focus will be on pre-1960s players? Because I have not and there is no wording to that effect in the statement announcing the changes. Many of us hope some pre-1960s players will be among the finalists but there's no guarantee of that. Just think about all the...
