How were Quarterbacks rated before QB Rating?

I'm sure this was discussed on the previous forum, but most of the threads were lost. I know the NFL went thru several different schemes for rating QB's in the years before QB Rating came along in the early 70's. I am unable to locate any of these rating systems as people in the modern era (and I'm ...

Re: DEA Agents Surprise NFL Teams

I'm worried that Congress is going to get ahold of this and hold up the country's business for weeks while they haul the NFL into hearings about illegal prescription drug use, as they did with the Baseball steroids brouhaha. What I don't get is that the federalis are more concerned with not violatin...

Yes, the public are morons, and I personally don't understand how pro wrestling is fixed yet that ridiculous kick boxing, anything-gies, inside a cage nonsense is not fixed. If wrestling were real, it would be that MMA/UFC fighting. I ran into George The Animal Steele a couple times when I lived in...

Re: Six TD passes in first half

Rodgers threw his 16th TD pass of 70 yards or more, now the NFL record. He had been tied with Peyton Manning and Favre for that record. That is a surprise, I would have thought Marino would have had that record. One doesn't typically think of Rodgers as a QB who was known for the bomb like Jurgense...

Re: Chances the Raiders go 0-16

Hard to say. On the other hand, If I were a betting man I would have bet the house on Pittsburgh to destroy the Jets yesterday. When a team is in the middle of a horrible season, you never know when they will have the one game where they put it all together and pull an upset. I think the Raiders wil...

Re: 1982 playoffs

Ivan Urena probably has a more precise answer to the question. Had the strike not canceled seven weeks of games, they probably would have had the 3 division winners and 2 wild cards in each conference, but as it dragged on, it was clear that the teams in each division wouldn't be able to play a hom...

What SURE future Hall Of Famers are currently in the NFL? Dovetailing off the "bus test" discussion in a different topic. (If this player got hit by a bus today, would he get in the Hall Of Fame?) We lost one recently when Champ Bailey announced his retirement. I'll start... Tom Brady Pey...

Re: Greatest passing day in Pro Football history?

Roethlisberger has set a record with 12 TD passes in two games, and along with being the only man with two 500-yard passing games, it looks like 2014 is the year Big Ben is passing the so called Bus test. What is the Bus test? The Bus test is an exercise to try to figure out, if he were hit by a bu...

Re: Hypothetical Coaching Question

George Allen, just because if I busted my butt for him I would always have a job with him no matter how old I got; he would find a way to milk every ounce of talent out of me in some way. And I also like the cake and ice cream after practice on Friday thing.
