Re: "Three Studs on the O-Line" article
....12/20/'70; seems like just yesterday....back home to southern calif. for christmas break after playing ball in college, and a chance to see my boy george allen possibly coach his last game for the rams. the 8-4-1 rams must win over the resurgent 8-5 nyg to earn the first wc. ... if nyg had won,...

Before the 1995 expansion both 5th place teams in the conference played a home and home against each other. They both finished in 5th place in 1992. Yup, though it was weird how they scheduled the Colts and Chargers to play twice in a 3-week span in 1992. And there were a few other fifth-place team...

Re: In 1992, it was the Pats and Seahawks in the "Stupor Bow
Oddity about the Seahawks-Patriots rivalry: from 1980-1993, the two teams met each other twelve times in those fourteen years. But they never played again in the eight following years they both shared a conference, and their next meeting was 2004, post-realignment, after Seattle defected to the NFC...

Re: Today's playoff matchups . . .
In a slightly related note, next weekend will be the first time the Packers and Cowboys have met in the playoffs in Green Bay since the Ice Bowl. Also interesting that the Cowboys are 8-0 on the road, and the Packers are 8-0 at home. Dallas at Green Bay on Sunday will be the first playoff game with...
