Re: Better Dal/Atl divisional round game, '78 or '80?
By 1980 the Falcons' pass defense was BAD. Well below average. They were always going to be vulnerable in the playoffs because of that. Maybe they should have run the ball better against Dallas, but 27 points, with 10 in the second half, should have been enough. It's not enough with that quality of...

Re: Random Inane Trivia
An easy one: This offensive lineman kicked his team's last extra point of the season as his coach benched their kicker. His younger brother also played as an offensive lineman in the NFL. Name the player. That would be George Yarno of Tampa Bay. His brother John was the Seahawks' center for a numbe...

Re: How did we get here? Evolution of Football rant
College basketball is a sport I used to love but have pretty much stopped watching. It's so frustrating and aggravating because the game is so poorly officiated. I've been watching for all those years and still don't know what a foul is.

Re: What are the worst shutouts in NFL history?
How about 5-0 Cowboys over Lions in the 1970 playoffs?

Re: Opinion question...what was the worst pass in NFL histor
I was watching some mid-80's weekly recaps, and came across the Packers-Cowboys game of 1984. There is a play where Gary Hogeboom drops back into his own endzone and lobs the ball directly into the hands of Packer DE Robert Brown who is standing like 5 yards away from Hogeboom. I used to work with ...

Re: Trivia of the obscure
This is more of an open-ended question because I don't know the exact answer or how to research it...but here goes: *This QB once threw 18 straight incompletions in one game. I assume this is some type of record, as single-wing/T Formation QBs didn't really throw it that often, and other teams woul...

Re: Best NFC Central team, '78-thru-'83?
The pickings are slim from this era, but I would cast a vote for the 1980 Lions. The Lions were sort of snakebit during the early years of the 1980's. In addition to the meltdown of the 1980 team; the next couple of years they missed opportunities too. In '81 they had a team poised to win the divis...

Re: Best NFC Central team, '78-thru-'83?
I would take the 1980 Vikings, who had the offense to go all the way but had too many turnovers in the divisional playoff against the Eagles. The Vikings had only lost the incredible number of three fumbles during the regular season, one of the lowest ever totals for a 16GS. Unfortunately, they mat...
