Re: 1952 & 1973 jersey number standardization

Otto Graham was the perfect example of the 1952 number standardization. Went from #60 to #14.

Re: Bogus Hall of Famer from YOUR Team

Give Walt Kiesling at least a little credit for his time as a coach. After all, he was brilliant enough to recognize Johnny Unitas wasn't good enough to play for the 1955 Steelers!

Re: Bogus Hall of Famer from YOUR Team

Easy answer for a Redskin fan if you have a good way-back machine. Wayne Milner is hands-down among the least deserving players in the Hall of Fame.

Re: Slater and Speedie

There's no way Jim Covert should be in over Joe Jacoby. Same with Harold Carmichael over Cliff Branch.

Re: "Unbalanced" Teams

1967 Redskins. Charley Taylor, Bobby Mitchell and Jerry Smith finished 1, 2 and 5 in the league in receiving, and Sonny Jurgensen had a then NFL record passing season, but they had no running game or defense, and finished 5-6-3.

Re: Bears Throwbacks

I agree there's probably not much the Bears can do about it, and that it's lame to go back on your word and unretire a number. The Redskins have a good system. Their only retired number is Sammy Baugh (33), but they work very hard to avoid giving out the numbers of iconic players like Darrell Green ...
