Re: Cornell Green & Mel Renfro
Cornell Green was almost 2 years older so the move was done in part to put someone younger at CB.

Re: Rams wore white horn helmets Thursday night
I thought the same thing in 1973. The home blue and white looked sharp.JohnR wrote:I recall not liking the change in 1973. (Was I an old curmudgeon at age 13? Maybe.) I liked the yellow throwback jerseys trotted out for the 75th anniversary season. Those look good w/ the yellow & blue helmet.

Re: QB Wins ¿Do they really mean anything?
The Cowboys did manage to win two 1970 playoff games with Morton starting, though he contributed next to nothing: Lions, 5-0 win: 4 of 18 for 38 yards and an interception. 49ers, 17-10 win: 7 of 22 for 101 yards, one 5-yard TD pass. The year before, he was awful against Cleveland. However, I'm not ...

Re: Milwaukee Journal & Milwaukee Sentinel No longer availab
I saw them listed on Genealogy Bank but when I clicked on the link for the Milwaukee Journal the webpage asks for names of your ancestors. So at first I thought this was for genealogy researchers only but it sounds like they have the entire paper, correct? Is it easy to navigate if say I wanted to f...

Re: Milwaukee Journal & Milwaukee Sentinel No longer availab
https://news.google.com/newspapers I have used this site extensively over the past several years ... Same. It used to be great, still usable but has gone way downhill over the years, as well. Of the pay sites Newspapers.com is my favorite largely because I rarely have to pay for it. You can have a ...

Milwaukee Journal & Milwaukee Sentinel No longer available
A great source of old information just dried up as the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel are no longer available on Google News Archives.
I have passed on my complaint to the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel and would encourage others to do so as well.

Re: Did we ever find the Sporting News stuff online?
My reply assumes you mean their archives.
I read it everyday on my IPad using the Paper of Record App. Best $5 I ever spent. Unfortunately, I have heard it is not available for the IPhone. Starting in 1966, they significantly increased their football coverage.

Re: Why did the Shotgun fall out of favor in 1961?
I remember reading in the old Neft-Cohen Encyclopedia that George Halas developed a defense for the shotgun by lining up a lineman over center. The Niners scrapped the shotgun after being ripped 31-0. Hickey did originally design the shotgun as a running formation to take advantage of quarterback B...

Snap counts
I am guessing they haven't been kept for very long but I would be interested findings the snap counts for the 1996 Packers (especially the position players and front seven on defense). How long have teams kept track of them?
