Re: John Elway

Elway playing for the Irsay family? :) Let’s say he did, the Colts would’ve been good enough that they don’t end up in a position to draft Peyton Manning. Also ironic that the Chargers could draft Peyton instead of his younger brother six years later we don’t end up with the Eli/Rivers trade in 2004...

No, it just means Butler made the Top 10 cut but didn’t progress any further.

Re: Teams With More Hall of Famers Than Wins

1985 Buffalo Bills 2-14
Joe DeLamielleure (his last season)
Bruce Smith and Andre Reed were rookies.

1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-14
Lee Roy Selmon

1989 Dallas Cowboys 1-15
Troy Aikman
Michael Irvin
HC Jimmy Johnson

And maybe one for the future; The 0-16 Lions in 2008 had Calvin Johnson.

Re: 2020 HOF Class

Atwater, I am ambivalent but he was only First-team All-Pro twice, never a guy who got any AP DPOY votes. He just lowered the standard for players To me, the mitigating thing is he does have 2 rings. In some sense, I'd rather Atwater's rings coincide with his All-Pros. His career was kind of like D...

Re: 2020 HOF Class

Early 2021 thoughts Peyton Manning Charles Woodson John Lynch Tony Boselli or Alan Faneca The fifth spot looks wide open and could go Richard Seymour, Zach Thomas, Calvin Johnson or a second OL. I’d also expect Jared Allen to be the fourth first-time eligible to be a finalist. There will be at least...

Re: MLB HOF and CFB 'best ever' vs. Ed Sprinkle

And why such an odd number like 11?

Tommie Frazier, Tebow and Young all deserve to be there. Reggie Bush’s time at USC is now somewhat tainted but boy was he huge at the time.

Brown at 1 was just hilariously bad. Even Brian Bosworth would have been a better choice. ;)

In hindsight, we can say the same for Tom Flores and his disastrous 14-34 tenure with the Seahawks.

Re: Sorry, but they screwed the pooch

The thing as well with Boselli that sways in his favour over Covert are his honours were achieved during the era of Ogden, Roaf, Pace and Walter Jones. He had a much higher peak and much tougher competition compared to Covert’s era imo.

Re: Class of 2020 will be announced next Wed

I remember back in the 70's you would often hear a player described "He will be in the Hall of Fame." And not get in, or not yet. I seem to remember George Allen saying that about Pat Fischer. Thanks I remember George Allen saying Pat Fischer "should be in the Hall of Fame." I t...
