Re: "Equal"s

Though decades apart, I felt Tony Dorsett and Chris Johnson were the same type of runners. I thought Adrian Peterson was very similar to Gale Sayers early in his career and Billy Sims was similar to Leroy Kelly ...

Re: Strongest 500 or below team to NOT make the playoffs

Had Dallas faced anyone but Philly to end the 1990 season--Troy would be done in that game, making the Atlanta game and easy loss-- they would have been a hot but undeserving playoff team. With pure young talent, Johnson might have made a run but losing to Philly was actually better ... The 1991 sea...

Re: "Equal"s

For me, Tom Flores was the AFL equal to Bart Starr, just didn't have the offensive line or defense as GB

Re: Something dumb that you remember about watching the NFL

I miss how cool uniforms looked in the early 90s, probably the last years carrying over from the 50s ... once Reebok, then Nike took over, jersies started looking worse and worse. Maybe players liked them better but I miss the old school looks. I was happy when Parcells changed the Jets jersies back...

Re: Hypothetical post merger Playoff Bowls

Had the 2019 conference runner-ups GB and TN met for the SB, I think the Titans might have upset the Packers. Derrick Henry was on a roll that postseason and had the Titans outscored the Chiefs in the championship game, Henry would have been rolling against the Packers as well. Yes, Rodgers was MVP ...

Re: Something dumb that you remember about watching the NFL

Haha ... Yes Ralph, I bitch about calls, not the people who bitch about them ...

Just like bitching about referees who think a lateral which is clearly behind the line of scrimmage is somehow a forward pass.
Many fumbles have been ruled incomplete passes and it's gets frustrating.

Re: Packers fatigue

Robert, I get a feeling former Packer Sharpe gets in this year. The older players will keep waiting.

Re: SB Champions That Should Have Repeated

Had Smith caught the ball and tied the score, maybe the Steelers try to run more with the backs but Bradshaw was a big play gambler and it paid off going to Swann, who could contort his body from ballet lessons to draw a devastating pass interference penalty. The Cowboys still could have stopped the...

Re: Something dumb that you remember about watching the NFL

Like a former Raider coach once said "when is a fumble not a fumble?" ... Get over it Ralph, the officials were wrong!

Re: 1971 NFL season discussion

The 1971 Lions had their third straight winning season reaching four straight in Joe Schmidt's last season in 1972. The team has only had ONE three-straight winning seasons streak, since ...

Why was he not coaching in 1973?
