Re: Bruce Smith VS Reggie White
Though I prefer White over Bruce overall, Smith was better against the run. White got better over time but some players like Bavaro, convinced him early not to take too many plays off. I believe the quickness and work ethic of Smerlas helped Smith develop as well into a total player.

Big Ben started this game terrible. He looked like Cam Newton watching that fumble on the ground before the Browns recovered-scored ...

Re: 1980 Chargers vs 1981 Chargers
The 79 Chargers had a great year but the Oilers were tougher in the playoffs, with the Chargers taking them lightly without Pastorini and Campbell. The pass rush couldnt get to Plunkett enough in the 80/81 AFC Championship game, while Jefferson dropped two late TD passes that hurt their comeback att...

Re: Better OC, Charlie Weiss or Josh McDaniels?
Weis in my opinion. He developed Brady hands down. McDaniels and BOB just rode his coattails, though McDaniels was better than O Brien. Weis helped develop Testaverde as well, a fundamentally strong coach.

Re: Roethlisberger for the HOF?
Youre right Bob ... Though I prefer winning QBs to spectacular throwers, the gifted passer/athletes will always fascinate voters of any generation. Conerly, Thompson, Plunkett and Simms might never reach the HOF but I will always admire their toughness, grit and ability to blend into the team concep...

Re: Worst player in HOVG? Best player not in?
I understand what Isbell could bring to the table as a thrower and the possibilities of a passing offense. Herber could throw as well but not as good as Cecil. I just believe he didnt play long enough. If he is based on three great seasons, why not other players like Latone, Sims, Andrews, Warren We...

Re: Clark Shaughnessy
Look, we all know that Jim Brown was a great player, especially with his speed and size. I also believe Gilchrist was great as well. More power than speed but a far superior blocker than Brown. I wont say he is better, though Cookie could kick and play linebacker as well but had Paul Brown kept him,...

Re: Bill Fralic - HOVG?
When I watched Fralic, he reminded me of former Cardinal, Bob Young, who was very strong and powerful but didnt get enough accolades. Everytime I watched Young, he manhandled people. Played well against Randy White too ...
